Privacy Policy

Sail Spotter is an independent tool that tracks published cruise fares across several cruise lines and emails you when a fare you’re watching changes. It is not affiliated with any cruise line. This page explains what personal data the service handles and why.

What we collect

• Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, and profile picture. That’s all we ask Google for (the email and profile scopes).
• Your watchlist. The sailings and cabin types you choose to track, plus a record of the last price we notified you about (so we only email you when something actually changes).
• Technical logs. Cloudflare (our network provider) and our server keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and debugging.
• A sign-in cookie. A small set of essential cookies keeps you logged in and protects the sign-in form. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To sign you in and keep your session active.
• To send the price-change emails you asked for.
• To operate, secure, and debug the service.

We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising. Under UK/EU data protection law our lawful bases are performing the tracking service you requested and our legitimate interest in running it securely.

Who processes it for us

• Supabase — database hosting (EU region).
• Cloudflare — DNS, encryption, content delivery, and protection against attacks. All traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as your IP address.
• Google — the sign-in you choose to use.
• Our email provider — delivers the price-alert emails via SMTP.

The application itself runs on infrastructure operated directly by Sail Spotter’s developer, not a third-party hosting platform.

Retention

Your account and watchlist are kept until you delete them or ask us to. Remove individual tracked sailings any time from your watchlist; to delete your account and all associated data, email [email protected] and we’ll action it promptly. Provider logs expire on their own retention schedules.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or object to a particular use. Contact us at [email protected]. You can also revoke Sail Spotter’s access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

The service isn’t directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting signed-in users will also be emailed.
